Addison is now
6-months old, and is a happy and healthy, little baby. She weighs 16.5 lbs. (55th percentile) and is 26 in. long (53rd percentile). Addison has dropped down to two naps a day, flanking Aubrey's one nap a day, which means our children are
never napping at the same time. (We expect it to be like this until Addison is around a year old.) Thankfully, they both sleep great most nights. Mommy proudly made it to her 6-month goal of providing breastmilk, but could not continue beyond that once the nap schedule changed. Mommy is so sad that Addison is now closer to being 1-year old than she is to her birth. She is changing so fast!....It's getting hard to remember how tiny she used to be. In just one month since our last Addison update, she has learned to
roll over onto her tummy, is beginning to
propel herself across the floor (just shy of fulling crawling), and is
eating solids. Aubrey is now potty-trained and is dressing herself from start to finish. (see Aubrey's update in a previous post dated June 25th.) No matter how much time we try to spend with our girls, it's just never enough. We have to keep reminding ourselves to appreciate each day with them because they grow up so fast.

Addison is about to try her first bite of solid (well really, mushy and runny) food today. Open wide....

Does any baby
really like that rice cereal?

It's Daddy's turn.

Addison is such a peaceful sleeper in her cradle with her kitty cat (and usually her thumb).
Addison enjoys playing with her Melissa & Doug musical instruments that have a tambourine, cymbals, maracas, clacker, and a triangle.

Addison loves it when Daddy makes this froggy jump and try to get her.

Sitting up for long periods of time is no problem for Addison now. She is playing with her new Crawl and Cruise Musical Jungle that Nana and Grandpa Hamilton gave her for Christmas. (We finally pulled it out of the box.)

Now that Addison can easily roll over onto her tummy, she's ready to explore. (You also may be able to see how much she is drooling - - We expect her first tooth sometime soon.)

Aubrey is ready for Addison to be on the move, too, so she can play with her. Aubrey is trying to show Addison how to push up and crawl.....

......It must be working! Addison is propelling/lunging across the floor to our surprise (and
horror 'cause we're not ready for two mobile children!).

Addison and Mommy co-sleep at least the first half of every night. To me, it's an incomparable feeling to snuggle with my little baby, with her breath on my face, and her little hands trying to find me in the middle of the night. In the photos above and below, Addison is waking up and stretching the morning of her 6-month birthday after a full night of sleeping with Mommy.
