Daddy had a lovely Father's Day weekend. It started Saturday night with a Father-Daughter dinner at Chic-Fil-A. Chick-Fil-A had tablecloths, flowers, a waiter, and Dads got a free milkshake.
They dressed up in their Sunday clothes and ate dinner with Aubrey's friend, MacKenzie, and her Dad, Tim.

Father's Day morning, Daddy is reading his card from Addison while she is watching from her highchair (covered up by toys).

Aubrey is pointing to the letter "A" (for "A"ubrey) that she drew for Daddy in the card she got for him.

Daddy is admiring his two, framed poems from the girls. The poem on the left is called "My Daddy's Hand" which shows a picture of Aubrey and Daddy holding hands and has Aubrey's handprints (this one was given to Daddy last year but was added to this year's frame). The poem on the right is called "My Daddy's Footsteps" which shows a picture of Addison playing with Daddy's shoes and has Addison's footprints. He will put this on the wall behind his desk.
(A special thank you goes to Vicki Lloyd, MacKenzie's mom for sharing this idea with me.)

As explained in our Mother's Day blog post (dated May 19th), we try to find special gifts for our children's first Mother's Day and Father's Day that can be passed down to them. This Father's Day, Daddy received (well, it's been ordered) a proof set of coins from Addison's birth year of 2008 which she will someday receive. The photo above shows a proof set of coins from Aubrey's birth year (2006) that she will eventually receive, too. (Aubrey will also get the watch that was given to Daddy the first Father's Day after she was born.)

Daddy is so proud of his little girls. (We all dressed in blue and white to coordinate with Daddy on his special day.)

Later that evening, Daddy and the girls went to see Papa Nash (Jeff's Dad) to share Father's Day with him.
