Memorial Day weekend at Stone Mountain Park

Ever since we started dating in 1999, Stone Mountain Park has been one of our favorite places to visit. On Memorial Day weekend, we took Addison on her first trip to see where Mommy and Daddy went on their first date and later got married.

Addison was in charge of deciding where we were to go first.

Our little family is waiting to ride the tram up the mountain. Addison is checking out the wires and moving pulleys that operate the tram.

Daddy and Aubrey went for a walk around the top of the mountain.

Mommy and her girls are recreating a similar photo taken almost a year ago when Andrea was pregnant with Addison (see photo below). Hmmmm......I wonder if any more children will be added to this photo in the coming years.

Aubrey and Mommy, who is 6 months pregnant with Addison, are in the tram building on top of Stone Mountain - September 2008.

We rode the "Ducks," a WWII land and sea vehicle, around the mountain and into the lake.

Aubrey and the other passengers blew their duck calls throughout the entire tour - it was LOUD!
After touring on land, the vehicle takes us into the lake for a view of the Park from the water.

Addison is telling us with her eyebrows that she is not interested in putting on her life-jacket (or listening to the duck calls anymore).

We were very lucky to find this vacant picnic pavilion to use during our lunch. It started raining shortly after we began eating.

Aubrey likes to have picnics, as indicated in a previous post (April 18, 2009). She has been looking forward to eating some watermelon like in her Dr. Seuss book titled Summer.

Addison is a happy baby after some milk and a good nap. She probably wanted some of our food, too.

We were hot and sweaty by the end of the day. Mommy just loves how Aubrey's hair gets so curly from the humidity (or sweat). I just can't figure out how to get her hair to curl like this when I want it to.
