Aubrey's "Dorothy" birthday party

Due to Aubrey's love of the "Wizard of Oz" movie, she wanted to have a "Dorothy" party for her 3rd birthday (that's what she calls it). She and the whole family dressed as the "Wizard of Oz" characters for her party and for Halloween, too. (see post dated Nov. 1st)

We decorated the sidewalk with yellow bricks, large "Munchkinland" flowers, and the "Wicked Witch of the East's" feet. We also decorated the tables with lots of movie collectibles.

Mommy displayed a collage of photos showing many of the "firsts" that Aubrey did in her 3rd year such as riding her tricycle, going to the dentist, going bowling, writing her letters, sleeping in her toddler bed, etc.
We encouraged our guests to dress up as their favorite "Wizard of Oz" character. "Dorothy" was the most popular costume making it truly a "Dorothy" party. (Addison is the "Cowardly Lion" in front.)
We played "pin the heart on the Tinman" using an enlarged photo of Mommy dressed at the "Tinman."
We also played "pass the lollipop" to the tune of the "Lollipop Guild."
How many "Dorothys" does it take to open presents?

Among other things, Aubrey received a "Wizard of Oz" game, DVD, coloring book, pop-up book, and small character dolls.

Mommy and the wonderful people at the Publix bakery designed this one-of-a-kind "Wizard of Oz" cake.
I love this sweet picture of Aubrey and her friend MacKenzie .
Can you tell that Aubrey is a little excited?
In the picture above, be sure to notice the "help" that Aubrey is getting with blowing out her candles from MacKenzie and cousin Mallory.
Awwww.....that silly Granddaddy.

After the party was over, the girls had fun playing with the balloon bouquets.
Aubrey couldn't contain herself when Daddy tied a basket to the balloons, sending Dorothy back to Kansas.
