Our "Stay-cation", Part III - I.N.K.

When Aubrey was very young, I overheard two Mommies on the playground talking about a place called I.N.K. - Interactive Neighborhood for Kids (http://www.inkfun.org/). It's a kid-sized town where the children get to learn about and pretend to be a doctor, a judge, a hairstylist, a postman, a veterinarian, etc. Now that Aubrey is old enough to understand most of the experience (and she gets in free until she's 3!), we decided to spend a day of our "stay-cation" at I.N.K. Once again, we picked a day when it would be the least crowded (Sunday), and we're so glad we did! Aubrey was able to enjoy each section to the fullest because all of the props and pretend uniforms, etc. were neatly in their place (I can only imagine the chaos on the weekdays from loads of school-children).

When we arrived, Aubrey received an ATM card. She went to the town's bank and withdrew pretend money from the ATM machine which she could use at all of the town's businesses. One of her first stops (and definitely her favorite) was the grocery store.

After filling her cart, Aubrey rang-up her groceries and bagged them. She learned how to find the bar code and scan it until she heard a "beep."

Aubrey donned a judge's robe, shook her finger at the defendant and said, "Llama, Llama. Now that's enough!" (her favorite part from the book Llama, Llama, Mad at Mama when Llama Llama is having a tantrum).

Aubrey put on a doctor's coat and tended to the sick baby in the hospital.
Then she checked the baby's x-rays in the radiology lab.
Aubrey freed the panda bear from it's cage at the animal hospital and gave him something to eat. Addison thought he was a great big pillow to climb all over.
When it was time for lunch, we sat in the diner where Aubrey took our order and brought us lots of delicious food to eat.

We hopped in a small (yet full-size) plane and pretended to fly into the clouds, high above the trees and mountains.

Addison mostly enjoyed the "Central Park" in the middle of the town.

Before leaving, we stopped by "Aubrey's Beauty Salon" for a pedicure. Addison decided Daddy needed a new hairstyle, too.

There were so many things to see and do at I.N.K. that I could not possibly post them all. We all had a very good time and thought that it was well worth the trip out of town.

Oooo, INK is such a GREAT place! I wish they'd expand into other locations so we could go too! Thanks for posting pics of it -- and pics of the girls and their parents enjoying it. Pls put up a closer-up pic of those girls faces so I can really see what they look like. Or a video (even better)! Aubrey's hair looks adorable. Hugs to all of you from all of us. XO
