Our "Stay-cation", Part II - American Adventures

Many years ago, I heard a review about a small amusement park which is geared toward little kids 10 years old and under (http://www.americanadventuresfunpark.com/). It's right next door to White Water water park on the other side of Atlanta. And although I had not been able to find anyone in my Mommy-groups who had been there, we decided that it was worth a try since the tickets were very reasonable.

We went on a weekday to avoid the weekend crowds. Since most children are now in school, there were only 3 or 4 families at the park the whole day. We were literally the first patrons to arrive and had the park all to ourselves, along with our own park employee escort, for the first hour or so. We commented on how we felt like celebrities who had rented-out the park for the day. We did miss hearing the sounds of joy and excitement from other children, but we had a fabulous time.
Aubrey is driving the "big rig" while Daddy and Addison are riding in the back.

Aubrey is flying an airplane she named "Pedro" (from the classic Disney story about a mail-carrying airplane).

Mommy and Aubrey are enjoying the Teacup ride.

Daddy and Aubrey are dizzily-delighted by the Tilt-a-Whirl.

Mommy's favorite was this roller-coaster.

Aubrey was so excited to ride her first Ferris Wheel like the ones she reads about in her many books (like Dr. Seuss' Summer or the Adventures of Sasha and Olly).

Addison rode the hot-air balloon ride with Mommy while Daddy and Aubrey rode together.

The Flying Swings was one of our favorites, too.

To our surprise, Aubrey rode every single ride available for her height (10 in all, I believe) numerous times . Our tickets also gave us access to the Foam Factory and miniature golf, but we were too pooped to do those things. Now that we know Aubrey is willing to ride some of the more adventurous rides, we are considering going to Six Flags before the end of the season since they have twice the number of rides for her height, and she gets in free until her 3rd birthday. We highly recommend this park for little kids on a budget.
