Mommy and the girls are always up for a field trip - - especially one that is free! Daddy joined us on Saturday for a trip to the
Sandy Creek Nature Center in Athens, GA, for a special program about the use and conservation of water.

First, the girls made bubble art.

Yeah, Addison drank some of the yellow stuff before she got the hang of blowing bubbles.

Then the girls did a scavenger-type hunt to learn about sources of water and gather colored beads to make a necklace.

Next, they made little terrariums with radish seeds that are still growing beautifully in our
homeschool window.

Last, they played a water relay race with the other kids attending the program.

Addison tried so hard to run without spilling her water but would usually end up with only about an inch left in her cup by the time she reached the big bucket.

Inside the Nature Center, we observed all kinds of nests, snakes, turtles, and fish.

Addison was willing to touch him, though.

I love this picture of the fish that came to say "hello" to Aubrey.

Addison is waving at the fish.

We enjoyed watching the turtle dive up and down and eat lettuce.

And the girls got to pet one.

Mommy liked the display of the baby turtles hatching on the beach.

The girls played with the many, many animal puppets in the children's learning and activity center.

Then Aubrey colored and cut an animal picture to take home.
It was our first time to the Nature Center but we look forward to going back to some of their other programs. Mommy also learned that we can check-out and take home about 20 different nature, science, and animal "Discovery Boxes" for our homeschool.
