As explained in a previous post (dated June 25th, 2009), our local libraries offered several wonderful and free summer programs that we could attend close to home. Now that the summer is over (school started on July 30th in our county), we will continue to attend the weekly "Baby Reads" program and the monthly storyteller event.
We saw another ventriloquist and magician.
The "Reptile Wrangler" drew the biggest crowd at the library.
By this point, Aubrey had attended so many magic shows at the library that, when she got scared from the crowd's loud reactions to the reptiles, she started crying and saying, "Magic scares me."
The final program was by "That Puppet Guy" who makes puppets out of found objects. He did a great job of portraying all of the characters in "Pinocchio" using household objects.
The library also shows kid-friendly movies over the summer, but Aubrey is not old enough to sit through them - - maybe next year.
