Happy 2nd Birthday, Aubrey!

Aubrey turned 2 years old on November 1st, 2008. The following Saturday, she had a Sesame Street-themed birthday party with a Sesame Street cake, table decorations of the various Sesame Street characters (e.g.s. Elmo, Ernie, Bert, Cookie Monster, etc.), and letters and numbers hanging from the lights.

Aubrey's friend, MacKenzie, watched as Aubrey tried to stick on Elmo's nose while blind-folded.

Cousin Mallory took a turn at sticking on Elmo's nose. She won the prize for getting the closest, which was a live goldfish (if you didn't know, Elmo's best friend is a goldfish named Dorothy).

Cousin Makayla is seen tossing cardboard cookies into Cookie Monster's cookie jar (on the floor below Elmo). MacKenzie won the prize for this game which was bag of fresh-baked, chocolate-chip cookies.

Aubrey had a wonderful time with her guests, including Uncle Pete and Cousin Ryan.

Aubrey received many generous gifts from her guests. Mommy and Daddy gave Aubrey a doll with a carrier, diaper bag with accessories, an umbrella stroller, and a wooden cradle (which was Mommy's cradle when she was a little girl). She also received a wooden highchair (given by her Grandmama and Granddaddy Bowers), and baby bedding (made by her Nana Hamilton). [please note Aubrey's Elmo birthday shirt that says, "2 Cute"]

She also received some wooden puzzles, a Fisher Price Learn About Town, some art supplies, books, a princess dress-up outfit, a pretend birthday cake, and beautiful clothes from her other relatives and friends.

We still can't believe that our baby girl is now a 2-year old pre-schooler! My, how fast they grow....
